“FUNNIEST PERSON IN AUSTIN” RUNS THROUGHOUT APRIL

The “Funniest Person In Austin,” The 17th annual edition of the prestigious, monthlong comedy competition held at Cap City, starts April 7, with other preliminary rounds on April 14, 21 and 28.

The semi-finals will be held April 29, while the finals are April 30-- and the judges those nights will include prominent TV executives, managers and agents, among them:

JIMMY MILLER (a talent manager whose clients include Jim Carrey, Garry Shandling, Will Farrell and Colin Quinn)

BRUCE HILLS (Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival in Montreal),

ANN MANEY (Vice President of Casting for 20th Century Fox Television),

DAVE RATH (books the comedians on ABC-TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and manages Janeane Garafalo, Patton Oswalt and others), and

JOANNE GRIGIONI (executive from Comedy Central).

NEW! We're also quite excited to announce additional industry figures who'll be serving as judges on one or more of the Monday night preliminary rounds. They include BETH SEPKO (owner of 3rd Coast, which cast such films as "The Rookie" and "Spykids 2"), SHERRY MILLS (from Reel Women), CARLOS FLOREZ (Talent Producer for "Loco Comedy Jam" on Telemundo's mun2 network) and CASEY CARTER (Production Manager with Direct Events, which books events at The Backyard and La Zona Rosa).
