Whatever you want to say about
a comedian with the surname Nutt--well, that’s up to you.
Meanwhile, though, here’s what a critic for the Montreal Gazette
wrote about him, reviewing his performance at that city’s
Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival, widely considered
the world’s biggest, most prestigious comedy event: “Remember
this name: Tim Nutt,” the critic, Anne Sutherland, wrote.
“The shaggy-haired and bearded Vancouverite was the standout
comic in a very strong line up. Where have they been hiding this
dude?” As those laudatory lines suggest, Nutt is a Canadian,
hailing from Vancouver, and has certainly racked up key credits
and accolades in that country, including two other fests (the Winnipeg
Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival) and winning “Best
Live TV Performance” at the 2007 Canadian Comedy Award. He’s
also released a comedy CD, “Scruffy Logic,” where perhaps
the signature bit is “The Plunger.” If you’re
intrigued by any or all of this--and you sure should be!--we suggest
you make a beeline for Cap City this week. No Nutt wordplay, mind
you, just an entreaty to treat yourself to see Tim in action. Clearly,
we’re not hiding this dude. With Eric Krug.
