BIL DWYER

January 23rd - 27th

Sure, you’re thinking, Bil (just the one “l,” thanks) Dwyer is a fabulous, experienced and accomplished host---the host with the most, you might even say, if you had any idea what that phrase meant--whose present or past TV credits include hosting “Extreme Dodgeball” on GSN formerly the Game Show Network, before their game became “Let’s Switch To An Acronym”), “Battlebots” on Comedy Central, PAX-TV’s “Dirty Rotten Cheater,” “Ultimate Fan League” on FSN...well, we could go on, but you probably get the idea. Of course, what’s far more germane for his Cap City engagement is what happens when he, uh, hosts his stand-up act in a club. Actually, the two are not unrelated--which probably accounts for why he’s also a top-notch, eminently entertaining and damn funny comic: He’s really comfortable on stage, he’s engaging, he’s lightening-fast on his feet, and all kinds of things tickle him, which given his gift for language & whimsy, means all kinds of things are guaranteed to tickle you, the audience. It’s no accident that he’s been selected to front the aforementioned shows (and others), but there’s a corresponding string of TV credits that bespeak his tremendous talent and skill as a comedian: His own half-hour special on Comedy Central, “The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn,” “The Martin Short Show,” “Late Friday,” as well as working as a regular commentator on the “I Love The 70’s/80’s/90’s” series. This doesn’t even touch on his acting work (from “The Larry Sanders Show” & “Ally McBeal” to films like “Ski School 2” & “What Planet Are You From?”). Clearly, he’s a gifted, versatile, funny man--and a lovely host. With Theo Von
